About the fund
Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) is a Swedish government agency responsible for most of Sweden's official development assistance on behalf of the Swedish government. It was established in its current form in 1995.
Sida works in democracy and human rights, environmental protection, gender equality, scientific cooperation and humanitarian aid. In 2024, the agency's annual budget was about SEK 26.5 billion.
Sweden, through Sida, has supported Ukraine since 1998 and significantly increased its assistance after Russia's full-scale invasion. Support covers humanitarian aid, national recovery, and the development of democracy and civil society.
