About the fund
Sigrid Rausing Trust is one of the largest human-rights charitable foundations in the United Kingdom, founded by Swedish-British philanthropist and anthropologist Sigrid Rausing. Created in 1995 (initially as the Sea Foundation), it took its current name in 2003.
The Trust funds human-rights organisations worldwide - working on civil and political rights, countering discrimination and racism, international justice, and protecting scholars and activists facing persecution.
Over its history, the Trust has awarded more than GBP 591 million to organisations working in human rights, making it one of Europe's leading donors to the human-rights sector.
