About the fund

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech humanitarian and human-rights organisation founded in 1992 by Šimon Pánek and colleagues from the Velvet Revolution activist circle. Today it works in roughly 30 countries worldwide.

The organisation provides humanitarian aid, runs development projects, education and human-rights programmes, and conducts social work. PIN is also known for organising the One World film festival.

In Ukraine, People in Need has been present since 2003, initially with human-rights programmes, and with humanitarian aid since 2014. After the full-scale invasion of 2022 it significantly expanded support across the country.
